Residence permit issued in the national interest
Where can you apply?
You need to apply in person at the Hungarian mission in the country where you live or are a citizen. If you’re in India, here are your options:

How to apply
You’ll need to submit your application in person.
The only exception: if you’re unable to appear for health reasons (you’ll need documentation).
Booking an Appointment

No need for a separate Visa!
You don’t need to apply for a separate visa – your residence permit application includes a D-type visa.
This visa:
- Allows you one-time entry into Hungary
- Lets you stay for 30 days
- Is valid for 3 months
- The residence permit is sent directly to PHARMAFLIGHT by the Directorate General of Immigration and can be collected upon entry.
⚠️ Important: If you don’t enter Hungary within 3 months of receiving your permit, it becomes invalid.
What documents do you need to submit?
- Filled-out and signed application form and attachment
- Passport copy
- 1 passport-sized photo
- Invitation letter with your Letter of Acceptance (LOA), which will send to you after successful admission.
When you apply, your photo and fingerprints will also be taken for the biometric permit.
Application Fee
- The processing fee is €110
How long does it take?
- Standard processing time: 21 days
- If anything is missing or extra documents are needed, this can take longer.
The residence permit is sent directly to PHARMAFLIGHT by the Directorate General of Immigration and can be collected upon entry.
How long is the permit valid?
- The permit is valid for up to 3 years, and can be extended once for another 3 years
